Deadman's Basin Reservoir is a man-made lake located in the Sweet Grass County of Montana. The reservoir was created in the 1930s by the construction of a dam on the North Fork of the Musselshell River. The lake covers an area of 3,200 acres and has a maximum depth of 85 feet. The reservoir is a popular destination for fishing, camping, boating, and water sports. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including rainbow trout, brown trout, walleye, yellow perch, and kokanee salmon. The reservoir is also a popular spot for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. There are several campgrounds around the lake, with amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets. The area is also home to many hiking and biking trails, including the Sweet Grass Hills Trail and the Blue Sky Trail. Deadman's Basin Reservoir is located about 25 miles northwest of Harlowton and 85 miles southeast of Great Falls.
